Francillia and Peasants of Posture join musical forces!! 0

Tampa-based doom-metallers Peasants of Posture is diligently writing and rehearsing material for Foolin’ at the World, the much-anticipated follow-up to the 2006 debut CounterRevolution.  Helping out with some of the remixes and new songs is none other than Beatnik Castle lead singer and songwriter (and fellow label mate) Francillia.

“It’s definitely an honor and a privilege to have such a tremendous musician and songwriter helping us out, “says POP bassist Anastasia V. Romanov. Francillia’s haunting yet sultry vocals can be heard on the new POP single “Los Illuminados” as well as the techno/tranz version of “God of War (Release Me)” from the upcoming POP sophomore release Foolin’ at the World. “Francillia also sang on the Lamb of God Remix” and graciously offered to sing on some of our other songs as well,” adds a jubilant Romanov.

“She’s an incredible talent and really adds a new dimension. I wish we can steal her from Quincy and Beatnik!” his strange but effective musical collaboration – a pop/R& B singer/songwriter collaborating with an industrial/goth metal rock band as POP is, for the most part, a marriage “made in heaven.” Anastasia and POP singer Thomas E. Rasputin also lent their musical services on “desperado” – a brilliant contemporary rendition of the 1971 Alice Cooper classic which will appear on Francillia’s solo 2010 CD Temptation. PPO guitarist Felix Yussopov also played on Francillia tunes “Alley Cat” and the title track. Any chance that the lovely Francillia appearing on stage with the Peasants?

“I certainly hope so,” exclaims an excited Anastasia. “We’d love to have her play with us! She’s an immense talent and, above all, really digs heavy music with a good grungey vibe. We’ve been trying to get her to hang out with us at The Castle (Tampa’s world-renowned Goth Club in Ybor City) on Friday Nights.” Then she laughs: “We’ll drag her out one night!” Check out the new single “Los Illuminados” (already making a gothic splash in European radio!) and “God of War” at www.myspace.com/rasputinmadmonk.

Tampa/US Virgin Islands psychedelic dance/pop duo Beatnik Castle – featuring singer/songwriter Francillia and producer/songwriter extraordinaire Quincy B. Scovill, will be Motown Maurice’s special guests on Wide Awoke Wednesdays on Wednesday, September 16 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the University of South Florida Alumni Center Traditions Hall at 4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33612. Wide Awoke Wednesdays is a live interactive television show that features movers and shakers in the Bay Area Community. In addition to a friendly live interview with Motwon Maurice, Beatnik Castle will be debuting the world premier of their music video for the hit single “Will U Be Mine?” This dynamic eclectic musical couple are currently riding high on their 2009 release “Will U B Mine?” The CD Maxi-single features remixes and re-recordings by such dance world notables as Miami’s Cato K, Nashville’s Lenny B, and, of course, Quincy B. The single is currently getting airplay on over 100 dance/mix radio stations across the country, including XM/Sirius BPM and 16 radio stations in Europe, including the UK and Germany, as well as Australia and South America.

“Will U B Mine?” - in its original version, was released in 2008 by Scovill Avenue, yet another unrecognized Bay Area gem whose 2008 Mad Monk, LTD CD “Big House” amazingly garnered seven Grammy ballot nods from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Committee last year, including the coveted categories “Record of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” and “Song of the Year”. Incidentally, “Will U B Mine?” was in the Grammy category “Dance Single of the Year” as well. In 2007, Beatnik Castle’s Mad Monk label mates Peasants of Posture had four different songs nominated in four different categories for the 2008 Grammy Awards. All nominated songs were written, arranged, and produced (and, in some cases, performed) by Mr. Quincy B. himself!

This enigmatic psychedelic pop duo carefully blends several musical styles, including electronica House/Dance, seventies-style disco, glitter rock, heavy metal, gothic, R & B and classic Motown. The Beatniks adamantly insist that this strange, eclectic musical brew is, indeed, quite uniquely original and the single “Will U B Mine?” is but a small sample of the group’s immense talent.

Born and raised in the US Virgin Islands but now residing in Tampa, Francillia not only is an incredible talented performer and songwriter but a US Army veteran and current member of the active reserves. She and her eccentric Rob Zombie-looking partner-in-crime Quincy B, have performed several showcases and concerts since the single’s release in March 2009, including the 2009 Winter Music Conference, Miami’s Club Twist, the grand opening of Club Q in Staten Island, The Urban Music Awards in New York City, and the Human Rights Fashion Show for Amnesty International in August, as well as numerous television and radio appearances. The duo was recently asked to perform and write an original song for  a tribute EP for Michael Jackson in which all profits will go to the “Heal The World” foundation.  The  star-studded project will featuring  dance world notables as  CiJay, Dare 2B Dif’rnt, Nancy Yvonne, Muzik Box and the infamous Georgie Porgie.

Whether performing the dance versions of their unique brand of music at night clubs or intimately relaxing Bay Area music fans with an equally enjoyable  “unplugged” acoustic” set an Bay Area Coffee shops and stages, both Quincy B and Francillia guarantee that their precious personal time is diligently spent at both Funky Monk and Pro Star Recording studios in Tampa and St. Petersburg respectively. This amazing and talented dynamic pop duo (often called the modern version of Captain & Tennille!) is currently writing and recording songs for Francillia’s 2010 solo cd, “Temptation” – which will be produced by Quincy B and subsequently released by Mad Monk, Ltd in spring 2010. Quincy also is working on Blind Granny – a dance/techno industrial project, an industrial, death-metal rap/hip-hop project called “Rap The Ripper,” film and television scores, and, of course – the much anticipated sophomoric Peasants of Posture CD  “Foolin’ at the World.
