(Tampa) – Tampa bay’s psychedelic dance/pop duo Beatnik Castle’s music video “Will U B Mine?” was recognized at the 2010 Tampa Bay Video Awards last Thursday, February 18. The music video, directed by Cynsings Studio’s Russ Miller, received Third Place in the Entertainment Category of the TBVA Professional Division.

“It’s definitely an honor to be recognized for your accomplishments in your hometown, “exclaims an exuberant Quincy B. Scovill, who, with Top 10 Billboard artist  Ohsha Kai, comprise the Tampa Bay Area’s hottest duo, Beatnik Castle. “Though the video is currently being played and distributed worldwide, this award is extra special because it’s from our hometown!”  The video for “Will U B Mine?” made its national broadcast debut on Logo December 2009 and has been added to MTV, VH1, Spike TV, Music Choice and other audio and video outlets worldwide. Quincy is quick to thank director and friend Miller at Cynsings Studios for “making it all happen!”  The video can be seen at MTV and VH1.com.

“I already sent the award to Russ! It’s really his award and he deserves it. After all, without him, this would not be possible.” Miller is scheduled to direct the video for “How Do You Mend a Broken Heart (Like Mine)?” – Beatnik Castle‘s sophomore 70’s styled-single featuring new Beatnik Ohsha Kai, later this Spring. The duo will debut the new single at the Deet Promotions Showcase March 25 at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.

Currently Beatnik Castle is basking in the skyrocketing worldwide success of their current single “Will U Be Mine?” which was placed on the Official Grammy Ballot by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in the Grammy category “Dance Single of the Year” in 2008 and 2009. Beatnik Castle also was placed in the Grammy Ballot categories “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year” in 2010.  Beatnik Castle’s February 2010 limited edition Club Remix CD is currently available and features new artwork and several new dance/club remixes by such dance world notables as Josh Harris, Lenny B, Cato K, Georgie Porgie, Majik Boys, Tod Miner, Julian Marsh and, of course, Quincy B. A Spanish Rap/salsa, Euro Techno, and eclectic Reggae version also will be digitally available later this year.
